The Rouse Avenue court on Wednesday reserved its order on the plea of Arvind Kejriwal seeking his wife's presence through video conferencing during the consultation by the medical board.

Kejriwal was produced through video conferencing and addressed the court. The judicial custody of Arvind Kejriwal and Vinod Chauhan has been extended till July 12.

They will be produced through video conferencing (VC) at 2 PM.

Special judge Kaveri Baweja reserved the order on Kejriwal's plea. The court is to pronounce the order on July 6.

Advocate Vikas Jain appeared and argued on Kejriwal's plea. The Enforcement Directorate's special public prosecutors, NK Matta and Simon Benjamin, opposed the application.

Advocate Vivek Jain submitted that there is no question of opposing the application. No prejudice will be caused to ED if the applicant's wife remains present through video conferencing during the consultation by AIIMS Medical Board.

Counsel for ED said that we are providing every medical record. There is no need for his wife to remain present.

During the hearing, Kejriwal appeared through video conferencing from Tihar Jail and also addressed the court. The doctor was there in the last consultation and the dietician explained how to cook food, which has to be told to the wife, he added.

Kejriwal said that there are so many consultations to take place, which only my wife can appreciate and added that the plea is on humanitarian grounds.

The counsel for Kejriwal submitted that there are thousands of things that doctors tell. The wife has to be presented only as an attendant. She is a natural attendant. (ANI)
