People's Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday chaired the party's Political Affairs Committee to review the overall political situation and party affairs of Jammu and Kashmir.

"In Srinagar, Party President and Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti chaired the meeting with party's Political Affairs Committee to review the overall political situation and party affairs," Jammu and Kashmir PDP posted on X.

The meeting was attended by several party leaders and discussed key issues and strategies.

"Senior party leaders attended the meeting, discussing key issues and strategies to address the current political climate and strengthen the party's position," it added.

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir fought the polls from the Anantnag-Rajouri constituency.

Mehbooba Mufti conceded defeat from the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat against NC leader Mian Altaf of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference.

"Respecting the verdict of the people I thank my PDP workers and leaders for their hard work and support despite all the odds. My deepest gratitude to the people who voted for me. Winning and losing are part of the game and won't deter us from our path. Congratulations to Mian Sahab for his victory," she posted on X.

The margin of loss was huge as the former Chief Minister lost by 2,81,794. Mufti was the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir state from 2016 to 2019. (ANI)
