Union Minister Bhagirath Choudhary, on Saturday, said that from the perspective of development, the next five years of the new National Democratic Alliance government will be written in golden words.

He also mentioned that PM Modi has worked in all sectors for the poor.

"The coming five years, from the perspective of development, will be written in golden words. Be it farmers, labourers, or the poor, whether it is about a village or a city. As soon as Prime Minister Narendra Modi took charge for the third time, he signed Kisan Samman Nidhi. He has worked in all sectors for the poor people," he told reporters in response to queries on the expectations of the upcoming Union Budget.

"On June 19, he approved the increase in the Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for all mandated Kharif crops," he told reporters on Saturday.

On June 18, PM Modi released the 17th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme in Varanasi. More than 9.26 crore farmers received benefits amounting to over Rs 20,000 crore.

After assuming office for the third term, PM Modi authorized the release of the 17th instalment of the PM Kisan Nidhi, which aims to benefit 9.3 crore farmers and distribute around Rs 20,000 crore.

The PM-KISAN scheme, launched in 2019, supplements the financial needs of all land-holding farmers, subject to certain exclusion criteria based on higher income status. The financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year, in three equal instalments every four months, is transferred into the bank accounts of farmers' families across the country through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.

To date, over Rs 3.04 lakh crore has been disbursed to more than 11 crore farmers across the nation, and with this release, the total amount transferred to the beneficiaries since the inception of the scheme will cross well over Rs 3.24 lakh crore. (ANI)
