MP: SAF Head Constable airlifted with 'PM Shri Air Ambulance' from Jabalpur to Bhopal for better treatment

A Special Armed Force (SAF) head constable, Lalit Rai was airlifted with the help of 'PM Shri Air Ambulance' from Jabalpur and sent to the state capital Bhopal for better treatment on Wednesday.

According to an official release of district administration, Lalit Rai posted as a head constable in the 18th Battalion of SAF in Katni, sustained severe injuries in a road accident in Jhinjhari, Katni on the night of June 7 at around 8:30 pm. After which he was admitted to Apex Hospital in Jabalpur.

When his health condition did not improve up to the mark, the doctors decided to send him to AIIMS Bhopal with 'PM Shri Air Ambulance' Service. Following which, on the recommendation of Chief Medical Officer Dr Sanjay Mishra, immediate approval was given by the State Health Commissioner, and Collector Jabalpur Deepak Saxena for free transportation of the victim by PM Shri Air Ambulance, the statement read.

On Wednesday State cabinet minister Rakesh Singh reached Dumna Airport in Jabalpur to send the head constable to Bhopal through PM Shri Air Ambulance for better treatment.

Minister Singh also spoke to the injured head constable's son and assured all possible help from the government for better treatment of his father. The minister also wished for his speedy recovery.

"Lalit Rai who sustained severe injuries in a road accident was undergoing treatment at Apex hospital in Jabalpur. He was needed to get shifted to AIIMS Bhopal for further treatment. So, on the instruction of CM Mohan Yadav he was airlifted on Wednesday. I came here to see off him and I also had a word with son Aditya Rai," Minister Singh said.

The release further read that after the launch of PM Shri Air Ambulance Service in the state by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, it was the third case in the state of airlifting the patient. Earlier, Govindlal Tiwari from Rewa and Ramgopal Tiwari from Panna were taken to Bhopal by PM Shri Air Ambulance for treatment.

Madhya Pradesh government has provided the facility of PM Shri Air Ambulance free of cost to Ayushman card holders patients and to any person who is seriously injured in accidents and natural disasters. (ANI)
