The Mizoram government has ordered the closure of all schools, banks, financial institutions, public sector undertakings and government offices except those rendering essential services on May 28 in view of the inclement weather and the warning issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on "Cyclone Remal."

However, the employees are mandated to work from home and be available in case of any exigencies.

The government also advised private sector offices to adopt ''work from home'' mode as far as possible.

In a press release, K. The State Government directed Secretaries and Heads of Departments to ensure officers and staff of their respective department shall work from home and be available in case of any requirements.
