Rebutting Home Minister Amit Shah's accusation of misappropriation of Rs 3,200 crore during the monsoon calamity in Himachal Pradesh, Congress leader Vikramaditya Singh said that only Rs 300 crore was given by the Centre to the state.

"We received only Rs 300 crores during the disaster. We received these funds through the SDRF and NDRF. Apart from this, no money was given. Money coming through centrally sponsored schemes is being given to other states also. During the disaster, not even a single paisa more than Rs 300 crores was given to the state government," Vikramaditya Singh claimed while speaking to ANI.

On Saturday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah alleged that the Congress party misappropriated Rs 3,200 crore during the monsoon disaster in Himachal Pradesh.

"Modi Ji sent Rs. 3,200 crore during the disaster, but the Congress government spent the entire amount on corruption. The MLAs who have joined the BJP have resigned from the assembly. They will be re-elected by the people as BJP's nominated candidates, and once they are elected, the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh will collapse like a house of cards. Modi Ji has developed the nation by 100%, but Himachal Pradesh by 150%," Shah said in an election rally in Shimla on Saturday.

Addressing an election rally in Himachal Pradesh's Una district, Home Minister Amit Shah also castigated the Congress for trying to "frighten us" by saying that the neighboring country possesses atom bombs and asserted that Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) is a part of India and "we will take it."

Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) hamara hai, hamara rahega aur hum ise lekar rahenge (PoK is ours and it will remain ours. We will take it," Shah told a rally at Amb in Una district in support of Union minister Anurag Thakur, the BJP candidate from the Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat.

Polling in all four seats in Himachal is scheduled for June 1. It will not only pit candidates vying for Lok Sabha membership from four seats but also elect members for six assembly seats that fell vacant following the resignation and switchover of dissident Congress lawmakers. The BJP, which won all four Lok Sabha constituencies in the state in the 2019 elections, is eyeing an encore this time.
