Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday conducted a massive roadshow in Punjab's Hoshiarpur ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in the state on June 1.

He highlighted the establishment of Mohalla clinics and the facilities provided to the people of Punjab over the past two years.

Addressing the gathering, Kejriwal said, "When I came for the campaign in the last election, I said that I would make your electricity bill zero. I did this in Delhi, and I will do this in Punjab too. Now, the electricity bill in Punjab is also zero. We have Mohalla clinics in Punjab. In the last two years, we have provided a lot of facilities to people. Till now, so many Governments came here in Punjab but no one would have given you these many facilities you got in these two years".

He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of obstructing funds allocated to Punjab, which were intended for the developmental projects in Punjab.

"PM Modi halted the release of Rs 8,500 crore allocated by the Punjab government. We intended to utilize these funds for road construction, which rightfully belonged to the state. If you make the 13 candidates of AAP in Punjab win, Bhagwant Mann will alone fight with PM Modi. Then PM Modi will not be able to stop the funds of Punjab," Kejriwal said.

Referring to the farmers protest, Kejriwal urged the voters to seek retribution through the ballot box.

"Two years ago, when Punjab farmers traveled to Delhi, they encountered barriers at the borders, preventing their entry with large bulldozers. This is time to seek revenge. Let's change the course of these elections to remove PM Modi from power and end what feels like a dictatorial regime," he said.

Voting for Punjab's 13 Lok Sabha seats will take place in the seventh and final phase on June 1.

The voting will take place on seats of Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Khadoor Sahib, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Nandpur Sahib, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Faridkot, Firozpur, Bathinda, Sangrur, and Patiala and a lone seat of Chandigarh.

The 2024 Lok Sabha elections are being held in seven phases, in a six-week marathon running from April 19 to June 1. The counting and results will be announced on June 4. (ANI)
