Manoj Tiwari, who is BJP's candidate from North East Delhi accused Congress of "spreading hatred" and appealed the electorate to "teach them a lesson" for allegedly trying to "divide" the country.

"...My campaign is development-based. We (BJP) brought the metro to this area for the first time and constructed a Signature bridge... We have to take all of this (development) forward...," Tiwari told ANI on Monday after attending a public meeting here.

Targeting the Congress, the BJP leader further said, "Congress has decided that it has to put a lock on the Ram temple and bring back Article 370. Congress has said that they will distribute the property of the Hindus among Muslims... People will vote keeping all these things in mind".

Manoj Tiwari added: "I will appeal to all Hindus and Muslims to stay away from Congress's 'Nafrat failao, danga karao' (spread hatred, cause riots ) policy and teach them a lesson for trying to divide the country..."

Voting in Delhi for all seven Lok Sabha seats will be held in a single phase on May 25.

On Monday, after campaigning for the Bansuri Swaraj, who is BJP's candidate from New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency, BJP National President JP Nadda also attacked the Congress party.

"Spreading confusion, lying, misleading people from real issues is the way of thinking of Congress Party, INDI alliance. BJP is very clear that we are winning 400 plus seats because we are getting blessings of people. The country will be strengthened under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi," Nadda said.

The BJP chief campaigned for party candidate from New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency, Bansuri Swaraj, in Malviya Nagar on Monday.

Voting for the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections concluded on Monday across all 49 parliamentary constituencies spanning eight States and Union Territories.

The 2024 Lok Sabha elections are being held in seven phases from April 19-June 1. The counting and results would be declared on June 4. (ANI)
