Questioning Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's silence on the Swati Maliwal assault case, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday alleged that the AAP is trying to save the accused responsible for assaulting the former Delhi Commission for Women chief.

Chouhan said that the Aam Aadmi Party has become the 'Ahankari Aadmi Party'.

"Arvind Kejriwal should answer why is he not speaking if a woman who is a Rajya Sabha member from his party has been assaulted by his people. She was not just verbally assaulted but physically assaulted too. Instead of giving justice to your MP, you are trying the save the accused. Kejriwal ji you should remember this is India, where 'Mahabharat' happened when Draupadi was insulted and the entire lineage was finished. Neither you nor your party will survive," Chouhan said while speaking to ANI.

Delhi Education Minister and AAP leader Atishi claimed that the entire Swati Maliwal controversy is a plot orchestrated by the BJP, with the Delhi Police acting under BJP's influence.

"This whole incident of Swati Maliwal is a conspiracy hatched by BJP. Swati Maliwal is being used as a pawn in this conspiracy as there is a case against her in ACB (Anti-Corruption Bureau). Chargesheet has been made in the illegal recruitment case against her and she is near to getting convicted. This is BJP's standard operating procedure...this is the same Delhi Police who did not file an FIR on Brij Bhushan Singh until court intervened, even though women wrestlers sit on the streets. In this case, no FIR has been registered against the complaint given by Bibhav Kumar over the security breach of CM residence by Swati Maliwal and trespassing...Delhi Police is working as per the direction of BJP," Atishi said while speaking to ANI.

The AAP, earlier on Friday, declared a 'Jail Bharo' march to the BJP headquarters in the national capital to protest what they claimed to be arbitrary arrests of its leader at the behest of the Centre.

Earlier, on Saturday, Kejriwal's former PA was arrested in connection with the alleged assault on Maliwal. He was produced before the Tis Hazari Court, which remanded him in police custody for five days.

Maliwal, in her complaint, alleged that Bibhav "slapped" her "at least seven to eight times" while she "continued screaming" and "brutally dragged" her while "kicking" her in her "chest, stomach and pelvis area."After his arrest, Bibhav was produced before Delhi's Tis Hazari Court, which remanded him in police custody for five days.
