Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Wednesday that the tasks he could not accomplish during his tenure as the Chief Minister have been achieved under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath.
He highlighted that CM Yogi Adityanath's initiatives are now gaining attention not just nationally, but internationally as well. During the rally held in Aminabad, the Defence Minister delivered a brief speech owing to a leg injury sustained at a previous rally in Andhra Pradesh, mentioning his difficulty in standing for extended periods. In his remarks, Rajnath Singh praised CM Yogi's remarkable achievements in the state, noting, "Yogi ji has accomplished tasks beyond imagination during his tenure as Chief Minister." Rajnath Singh emphasized that the foremost requirement for the progress of any state is to ensure law and order. He highlighted that CM Yogi's efforts in this regard have garnered attention both nationally and internationally, making Uttar Pradesh a source of pride. Under CM Yogi's leadership, the ambitious goal of transforming the state into a one trillion-dollar economy has been set. Achieving this milestone, he added, would propel India towards becoming the world's third-largest economy. Rajnath Singh stated that throughout his political career, he has refrained from making promises during election campaigns. Instead, he simply seeks the blessings and good wishes of the people. He emphasized that there's no necessity to inform him about the developmental projects undertaken, as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has played a significant role in the progress of Lucknow. He attributed full credit for these developments to CM Yogi. Rajnath Singh expressed confidence that the target of over 400 seats would be achieved based on reports from the first four phases of voting. He emphasized the BJP's reliability, citing their track record of fulfilling promises. He highlighted the party's decisive action in abolishing Article 370 in Kashmir soon after gaining a clear majority in 2014, leading to rapid development in the region. Singh contrasted this with the security challenges faced during Congress rule, noting a significant decrease in terrorist incidents across the country, barring a few major incidents in Kashmir. He further remarked, "Today, the Ram temple stands proudly in Ayodhya, signifying a monumental shift from a humble hut to a grand temple. This marks the dawn of Ramrajya in India." Singh highlighted the enhanced global stature of India, noting a shift in perception towards the country. He credited Prime Minister Modi's leadership for elevating India to the fifth position in the global economy, up from the 11th place during the tenure of Manmohan Singh. He cited assessments from major international organizations affirming India's rapid development and predicted that by 2027, India would ascend to the status of the world's third-largest economic superpower. Addressing the minorities, he assured, "We seek your support not through fear, but through love and trust." He advised the opposition to engage in meaningful politics and speak truthfully. "Avoid engaging in politics that obscures the truth from the public," he added. Rajnath Singh emphasized that their political pursuits extend beyond mere governance but are rooted in nation-building. Reiterating the words of former US President Jimmy Carter, Rajnath Singh said, "'If you want to see the future, come to India; if you want to feel the future, come to India; and if you want to work in the future, come to India.'" He appealed to the electorate, stating that if India aims to ascend as a global superpower, voting in favour of the BJP and NDA is imperative. On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Minister in the state government Brajesh Pathak, MLC Dr Mahendra Singh, JDU national spokesperson KC Tyagi, MLC and Lok Sabha convener Mukesh Sharma, Mayor Sushma Kharkwal, BJP Mahanagar President Anand Dwivedi, and Dr Gurmeet Singh among others were present.
