Telangana Police seize over Rs 99 lakh cash from car

Ahead of polling for the Lok Sabha polls on Monday, Telangana police seized Rs 99.94 cash which was being transported in two travel bags in a car, police said.

According to the police, on Sunday morning, the team got a tip-off about illegal transportation of money in a car. The cash being carried in two travel bags was recovered from the car.

Upon investigation, the team detected the car at the Godhu Thanda in Kusumanchi police station limits. The police reached the spot and halted the car along with its driver.

The police department said a case has been registered and the information has been given to the revenue department.

Voting for all 17 seats in Telangana will take place on May 13 in the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024.

In the 2019 general election, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) won nine seats, the Bharatiya Janata Party four, Congress three and AIMIM one seat.

The voting for the first three phases has been completed so far in the nation. The next round of voting will be held on May 13. Lok Sabha polls are being held across seven phases till June 1 and votes will be counted on June 4. (ANI)
