JD(U) leader KC Tyagi said that questions regarding the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's alleged role in the now scrapped excise policy will continue to do rounds until he does not get a clean chit or bail from the court.

"There is no tradition of negating the ruling of the Supreme Court, we welcome the verdict and respect it," he told ANI a day earlier.

Replying to a query that Kejriwal can't comment about his alleged role in the Delhi liquor "scam", the JD(U) leader said, "Untill the Court does not give him a clean chit or bail in this case, such questions will be asked about."

On Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's debate challenge with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, "He is making such statements for publicity. Rahul Gandhi ji is no match to the oratory of Narendra Modi ji the Prime Minister."

Meanwhile, CM Kejriwal held a meeting with the Aam Aadmi Party MLAs in the national capital today. This was his first meeting with legislatures after he walked out of Tihar Jail. He was granted interim bail on Friday till June 1.

In a post on X, CM Arvind Kejriwal wrote, "11 am - MLA meeting 1 pm - press conference at party office, 4 pm - Road Show - New Delhi Lok Sabha - Moti Nagar 6 pm - Road Show - West Delhi Lok Sabha - Uttam Nagar. All of you have to come."

Kejriwal was released from Delhi's Tihar Jail on May 10, 50 days after he was jailed on corruption charges linked to the alleged liquor policy scam hours after the Supreme Court granted bail till June 1.

The Supreme Court on Friday gave interim bail to the Aam Admi Party convenor till June 1. However, as per the terms of his bail, the Delhi Chief Minister cannot make any comment about his role in the Delhi liquor scam case.

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, all seven parliamentary seats in Delhi will vote on May 25, the sixth of the seven-phase nationwide polling. (ANI)
