Madhya Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief VD Sharma said on Saturday regarding the disputed Bhojshala Complex that a decision on Bhojshala would be taken soon and wish of the people of the area would be fulfilled.

Sharma made the remark while speaking to reporters in Dhar district. He came to attend a youth conference in the Sardarpur area of the district.

"The construction of a Ram temple in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become history today. The Prime Minister has also mentioned about the Bhojshala. Soon the decision on the Bhojshala will also be taken and the voice of the people of the area will be fulfilled," Sharma said.

Earlier, addressing the conference the BJP leader said that the Bhojshala was waiting for someone to bring Mata Saraswati and she would sit again at her place in the temple.

"Maa Saraswati in Bhojshala is still waiting for someone to bring Mata Saraswati and she will sit again at her place in the temple," he said.

Currently, following the direction of the Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) began an archaeological survey at the Bhojshala Complex on March 22.

In the order dated March 3, Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court had also directed the ASI to constitute an expert committee that will "complete scientific investigation, survey and excavation, through the adoption of latest methods and techniques" and submit the report within six weeks.

During the next hearing into the matter on April 29, the ASI sought more time for the survey. The court further granted eight weeks time from April 29 to ASI for the survey.

The court also made clear that no further extension of time should be granted to comply with the order dated March 3.

The court has also directed the ASI team to submit the complete exhaustive report on or before July 2, 2024. The next hearing into the matter is scheduled for July 4.

For Hindus, the Bhojshala Complex is a temple dedicated to Goddess Vagdevi (Saraswati), while for Muslims, it is the site of the Kamal Maula mosque.

According to an arrangement in 2003, Hindus perform puja at the complex on Tuesdays from sunrise to sunset while Muslims offer namaz on Fridays from 1 pm to 3 pm. (ANI)
