Amid the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from the Puri Lok Sabha seat, Sambit Patra on Wednesday held a mega padayatra in Banpur.

He claimed that the BJP would sweep all the 21 LS seats in Odisha and reaffirmed that BJP govt will form government in Odisha.

Patra was accompanied by Chilika Constituency BJP MLA candidate Prithiviraj Harichandan along with BJP workers in large numbers who joined the foot march.

The Padayatra started from Banpur NAC entrance gate, toured the entire town and ended at Paltan ground. Sambit requested all the citizens to "Vote for the development of Chilika, the development of Puri as well as the development of Bharat."

He highlighted that the "support we are getting is because of the welfare-oriented policies being implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi."

Speaking to ANI Patra said, "This time BJP and NDA are going to cross 400 MP seats in Bharat. The people of Chilika love PM Modi."

"Similarly, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (Urban) has been implemented in Banpur by the central govt and people are getting benefits of the Modi government's people-oriented scheme," he said.

Exuding confidence, he said, "This time surely BJP will form government in Odisha as well as BJP will sweep all the 21 Lok Sabha seats in Odisha."

The state of Odisha will hold Assembly elections and Lok Sabha elections in four phases from May 13 to June 1, with vote counting scheduled for June 4.

In the 2019 Assembly election, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) won 112 out of 146 seats, while Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won 23 seats and Congress won 9.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) won the majority of seats in the state, while the BJP and the Congress brought up the rear.

The BJD won 12 seats, the BJP finished a close second at 8, and the Congress bagged just a lone seat. (ANI)
