Amidst the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, the District Administration Kupwara in North Kashmir organised a grand live art exhibition as part of the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative.

This vibrant event on May 3 at TRC Kupwara showcased live painting, calligraphy, and sculpture, aiming to ignite awareness and education among voters for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The event was organised by Chief Electoral Officer Pandurang Kondbarao Pole in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara and other officers.

By intertwining creativity with civic responsibility, the exhibition provided a dynamic platform to engage the community in the electoral process. Through live demonstrations of various art forms, attendees were not only visually captivated but also intellectually stimulated, fostering a deeper understanding of the significance of their voting rights.

The fusion of art and civic engagement underscored the administration's commitment to fostering an informed and empowered electorate.

Such initiatives not only enrich cultural experiences but also serve as catalysts for social change, reinforcing the vital role of art in shaping public discourse. As participants immersed themselves in the creative ambience, they were simultaneously encouraged to reflect on their role in shaping the democratic landscape, thus amplifying the spirit of democracy in Kupwara.

Meanwhile, a day before, SVEEP activities to raise voter awareness were also conducted in Sonawari.

SVEEP or Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation is the flagship programme of the Election Commission of India for voter education, spreading voter awareness and promoting voter literacy in India. The programme reaches out through different modes and media to educate people about the electoral process.

The Lok Sabha polls in the Union Territory are being held in the first five phases. Udhampur and Jammu witnessed the polling on April 19 and April 26 respectively. Whereas, voting in Anantnag-Rajouri, Srinagar, and Baramulla will be held on May 7, May 13, and May 20 respectively. The counting of votes will be taken up on June 4. (ANI)
