YSRCP candidate from the Visakhapatnam South Assembly constituency Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar on Thursday slammed TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu saying that for him poll manifesto is like tissue paper.

"No one believes Chandrababu Naidu's manifesto. For him, manifestos are like tissue paper," Ganesh Kumar told ANI.

Ganesh Kumar, who quit the TDP to join YSRCP, is an incumbent MLA from the constituency and he is pitted against Vamsikrishna Srinivasa Yadav of the JSP, a constituent of the NDA alliance in the state.

Kumar took a swipe at JSP chief Pawan Kalyan saying that he was begging Chandrababu Naidu for 21 seats for JSS to contest.

"Pawan Kalyan who contested 175 seats in the state, now begging Chandrababu for 21 seats".

He said that YSRCP is campaigning by showcasing the achievement of the Jagan Mohan Reddy government where 99 per cent of the poll promises have been fulfilled.

"We are doing a very enthusiastic campaign by highlighting Jagan Mohan Reddy's welfare schemes. 99% of YSRCP poll promises have been fulfilled by Jagan Reddy. For Opposition, development means only the construction of buildings and roads but for Jagan welfare of the people is an essential part of it," he said.

He said that under Jagan Mohan Reddy's rule secularism values are protected and alleged that the TDP- JSP-BJP alliance in the state has done nothing for the Muslim community.

The Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh will be simultaneously held on May 13. The counting of votes will take place on June 4.Andhra Pradesh has 175 Assembly seats, and 25 Lok Sabha seats. In the 2019 Assembly elections, the YSRCP won with a thumping majority of 151 seats, while the TDP was confined to 23 seats. In the Lok Sabha polls, the YSRCP won 22 seats, while the TDP could only win three seats. (ANI)
