Telugu Desam Party's candidate from Rajamundry Rural constituency in Andhra Pradesh Gorantla Buchiyya on Thursday exuded confidence in the victory of the TDP-BJP-Jana Sena alliance in the upcoming Assembly election.

He said that the manifesto of NDA partners in the state has got huge support from the people.

The manifesto talks about "super six" guarantees which include a Rs 1,500 monthly pension for women in the age bracket of 19 to 59 years, 20 lakh jobs for youth or Rs 3,000 monthly unemployment aid, and free bus travel for women.

"TDP government will come to power in the state. Promises in the TDP manifesto like old-age pension of 4000 rupees per month, and unemployment benefits have got traction among the people," Gorantla Buchiyya said.

He claimed that TDP leaders are welcomed warmly by the people and that it is a sign of TDP's victory in the coming election.

Criticising the reservation based on religion, Buchiyya said that it is not surprising that AIMIM's chief Asaduddin Owaisi supports Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy.

"Asauddin Owaisi said that he fully supports Jagan Mohan Reddy for Muslim reservations. They are two fellow travellers who loot people. Owaisi is the leader of a religious party, so it's not surprising for them to support Jagan," he said.

Gorantla Buchiyya is the incumbent MLA of the constituency. He won the 2019 Assembly election polling 74,166 votes. YSRCP candidate Akula Veerraju was the runner-up with 63762 votes.

The Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh will be simultaneously held on May 13. The counting of votes will take place on June 4.

Andhra Pradesh has 175 Assembly seats, and 25 Lok Sabha seats. In the 2019 Assembly elections, the YSRCP won with a thumping majority of 151 seats, while the TDP was confined to 23 seats. In the Lok Sabha polls, the YSRCP won 22 seats, while the TDP could only win three seats. (ANI)
