Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Uma Bharti, who has been away from political programs for a long time, on Wednesday was back in her role and campaigned in support of Union Minister and BJP nominee from Guna constituency Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Bharti addressed a public gathering at Pichhore in the district and also participated in the roadshow on the occasion. Union minister Scindia expressed his gratitude to Bharti for campaigning in his support saying despite being unwell, she came to bless him for which he thanked her from the bottom of his heart.

"During the Jan Samvad in Pichhore, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Uma Bharti was seen in her old style - the same frankness, the same intimacy and her closeness to her people. Despite being unwell, she came to bless me, for which I thank her from the bottom of my heart," Scindia posted on X.

Addressing the public on the occasion, the former CM applauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that he gave them the pride of being an Indian.

"The biggest gift of PM Modi to India is that he gave us the pride of being an Indian," Bharti said.

She further added that Lord Ram (construction of Ram Mandir) had come and now Ram Rajya would come.

"Ram ji has come, now Ram Rajya will come. If Ram Rajya comes, PM Modi alone will not be able to do it, he will need supporters. Lord Ram also needed supporters for bringing Ram Rajya, support of Lord Hanuman and Lakshman were needed and everyone together created Ram Rajya. Therefore, PM Modi will also need Jyotiraditya Scindia again and again," Bharti said.

She also said recently PM Modi spoke about former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan that he wanted to take him to Delhi too.

Meanwhile, speaking on the occasion, Scinda hailed Bharti and said that his grandmother Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia and Uma Bharti had a relationship of heart.

Scindia is contesting from the same Guna seat and the rival Congress candidate from the seat is Rao Yadvendra Singh who is a former BJP leader and contesting against him.

Guna will go to the polls on May 7 in phase three of the seven-phased ensuing general elections with eight other parliamentary seats of the state.

Lok Sabha polls in Madhya Pradesh are being conducted in four phases. The first phase of polling was held on April 19 and the second phase was concluded on April 26.

The next two phases will be conducted on May 7 and May 13. The counting of votes will be held on June 4.

With 29 Lok Sabha constituencies, Madhya Pradesh ranks sixth among all states in terms of its representation in the Lower House. Of these, 10 seats are reserved for SC and ST candidates, while the remaining 19 are unreserved. (ANI)
