TDP candidate Sri Bharat's wife Tejaswini on Wednesday was overwhelmed after receiving love from the public while election campaigning here.

"I am feeling very happy and very blessed to receive so much love from everybody. I think it's amazing," said Tejaswini, younger daughter of Tollywood star Nandamuri Balakrishna.

Sri Bharat who is the son-in-law of Nandamuri Balakrishna is contesting as a TDP candidate from Visakhapatnam for the 2024 general elections.

While campaigning for her husband, Tejaswini said that TDP stands for women's empowerment and expressed concern that the youth here were getting addicted to drugs and emphasized Bharat's manifesto, especially about getting one lakh minimum jobs for youths.

She also raised concerns over port pollution or the Vizag steel plant privatization and rowdyism.

"The main reason was to speak about how our government will help people and how their future will be better and to give them our message. Bharat has written his entire manifesto, especially about getting one lakh minimum jobs...There are issues of port pollution or the Vizag steel plant privatization and there is a lot of rowdyism here. The youth is getting addicted to drugs, so these are some of the main issues," said Tejaswini.

Tejaswini also interacted with the women of the fishermen community in Peda Jalari Peta in Vizag on Tuesday evening.

She said, "TDP stands for the empowerment of women and assured them of their bright future under the leadership of former Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu. Everybody knows the vision of Chandrababu Naidu. He has done so much for the state."

NDA partners TDP, Janasena and BJP are fighting together in Andhra Pradesh against the INDIA bloc, with "super six" promises and several other welfare-centric schemes.

Elections for the 175-member assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh are scheduled to be held on May 13.

As part of a seat-sharing deal among NDA partners, TDP was allocated 144 Assembly and 17 Lok Sabha constituencies while BJP will contest from six Lok Sabha and 10 Assembly seats. JanaSena will contest two Lok Sabha and 21 Assembly seats. (ANI)
