Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Family Welfare and Health and BJP candidate from Porbandar Lok Sabha seat in Gujarat, said that the issue of development is the party's election campaign.
During a roadshow in the Dhoraji area in Porbandar, Mandaviya said, "Our issues in Lok sabha election is development and development. Such ambience is coming from the public," he remarked. Mansukh Mandaviya is pitted against Congress' Lalit Vasoya, a former MLA, who belongs to the Patidar community in the Porbandar Lok Sabha seat. Before becoming a Rajya Sabha member, Mandaviya won the Palitana assembly seat of Bhavnagar in 2002. The voting in Gujarat will be held in a single phase on May 7 for 25 Lok Sabha seats.
