Prime Minister Narendra Modi has written to his party candidates who will contest in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections, and has requested them to spread the word against Congress' "regressive" policies.

He alleged that the Congress party wants to "snatch" reservations from SC, ST and OBC communities and give them to Muslims and impose an 'inheritance tax' on the public.

"I request you to make the public aware of the regressive politics of Congress and the INDI alliance. They want to snatch reservations from SC, ST, and OBC and give them to their vote banks, even though giving reservations based on religion is unconstitutional. They want to snatch people's hard-earned money and give it to their vote banks. Congress has even said it will support dangerous policies like 'inheritance tax'. The country needs to unite against them" PM Modi stated in the letter.

He further said that every vote for BJP will ensure a strong government at the Centre and will boost the resolve to make India a developed nation by 2047.

PM Modi added that people across the country would remember the "difficulties" they have gone through in the last 5-6 decades and also the "improvements" in the last 10 years.

He asked BJP candidates to encourage voters to come out in huge numbers to vote and focus on winning every booth in the constituency. Amid the intense heat, he suggested people turn up for voting in the early morning.

"As a candidate of the BJP, I urge you to convey my assurance to each voter that every moment of my time is dedicated to the welfare of my fellow citizens. I send you my wishes for your victory in the election. It is Modi's Guarantee that we will work 24 by 7 for 2047!" the letter added.

Union Health Minister and BJP leader Mansukh Mandaviya thanked Prime Minister Modi for the letter and affirmed that all the candidates will work hard on his suggestions

"I express my heartfelt gratitude to you for these inspiring words. The work done by you in the last 10 years has brought about a big change in the lives of the poor, youth, farmers and women. All of us will work hard on your suggestions," Mandaviya posted on X.

The seven-phase Lok Sabha elections are underway and the counting of votes will be held on June 4.

Polling for the first two phases concluded over a total of 191 constituencies. 102 constituencies went to poll during the first phase, while 89 seats voted on April 26. The next phase is scheduled for May 7. (ANI)
