Delhi Police arrested three people in three different cases involved in stealing cars and selling them after a joint operation was conducted by ATS and Rohini district's Begumpur police officials last week, DCP Rohini said on Monday.

DCP Rohini, Guriqbal Singh Sidhu said, "A joint operation was conducted by the ATS team and Rohini district's Begumpur police station officials last week. We have three different gangs who were stealing luxury cars and selling them to other people. We arrested two persons in the first incident and recovered 4 cars. In the second incident, we arrested one person and recovered 2 cars. And finally, we arrested 1 person and recovered 3 cars. All of them used to put new number plates immediately after lifting the cars."

He said that the first gang that was nabbed by ATS used to take the stolen vehicles to Bihar and sell them. Some of the gang members were absconding.

"The thief arrested by the Begumpur team conducted its operation in the Delhi-NCR area. Some of the gang members are absconding. Some specialised tools have been seized from them. They used to steal vehicles in a sophisticated way. That is part of the investigation," he further said. (ANI)
