Shiv Sena candidate Rahul Shewale filed his nomination for the Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai South Central on Monday in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Earlier he held a roadshow before filing his nomination paper.

He said, "This is the third time I am getting the opportunity to fulfil the dream of Balasaheb Thackeray. I am taking forward the vision of Balasaheb Thackeray and "Baba Saheb Ambedkar. People have twice elected me MP from here. I will contest against Anil Desai. We respect each other. This is a battle of the ideology. This is a battle between the ideology of Congress against the ideology of Balasaheb Thackeray. This is fight between real Shiv Sena and fake Shiv Sena."

He further said that under PM Modi Article 370 was abrogated and Ram Temple was built.

"We are hopeful that UCC will be implemented. Our focus is on the redevelopment of dilapidated buildings, refugee colonies, Punjabi colony. Dharavi is important for us but along with it redevelopment of the other five Vidhan Sabha constituencies is important for us. In the next five years we will shift people to their new homes," he further added.

He will be contesting against Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate from the South Central Mumbai Constituency for the Lok Sabha elections, Anil Desai.

Maharashtra will be polling in 11 seats in the third phase on May 7. Out of 48 seats, voting in 13 seats has been completed in the first and second phases.

The third phase will witness polling in 94 constituencies across 12 states/UTs.
