Expressing confidence in party's performance in Kerala, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that the Bharatiya Janata Party will register victory in double-digit seats in the state in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

He also accused the LDF and UDF governments of creating the 'financial crisis' in the state and urged the people to provide BJP strength in the upcoming polls.

Addressing a public meeting in Kerala's Vadakara on Friday, Rajnath Singh said, "Supreme Court categorically said that if someone is responsible for the financial crisis of Kerala, then it is the state government. I want to say give enough strength to the BJP. The LDF and UDF can only be checked by the BJP and we can give them a befitting reply. UDF and LDF have looted the people of Kerala in their successive regimes...The people of India have decided, 'abki baar 400 paar'."

The Defence Minister further paid homage to the BJP workers killed in Kerala and thanked them for their contribution in expanding party's footprint in the state.

"I pay my respect and condolences to BJP workers of Kerala who sacrificed their lives to get a double-digit vote percentage for the BJP... Now I can confidently say that BJP will now win double-digit seats in Kerala," Singh said.

"Every Congress government has had corruption charges against them, but even after 10 years, we don't even have one corruption charge against our government," he added.

Kerala sends 20 members to the Lok Sabha. The voting for all the seats in the state will be held in a single phase on April 26. The counting will take place on June 4.

In the 2019 elections, the Congress-led UDF registered a strong performance by winning 19 of the 20 seats, while the BJP failed to open its account. (ANI)
