Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday expressed happiness over Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to the state saying they are fortunate that the latter is arriving here.

CM Yadav also showed confidence in winning the Chhindwara parliamentary seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

"We are fortunate that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is coming to Chhindwara this evening. We are continuously receiving good news from Chhindwara. In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, BJP is going to win the Chhindwara seat. BJP workers and leaders are preparing for the Union Home Minister's roadshow in Chhindwara," the CM told ANI.

Union Minister Shah is scheduled to visit Chhindwara on Tuesday evening and will hold a roadshow in support of BJP candidate Vivek Bunty Sahu. Sahu is contesting against former CM Kamal Nath's son Nakul Nath.

Chhindwara is a hot seat in the state and it is considered a stronghold of Congress stalwart Kamal Nath. The former CM's son Nakul Nath is contesting from the seat and it was the only seat that the Congress managed to win in the previous 2019 general elections in the state.

This time, the BJP is leaving no stone unturned to win the Chhindwara Lok Sabha in the upcoming polls. Chhindwara will go to polls in the first phase on April 19 with five other parliamentary seats in the state.

Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh will be conducted in four phases. The first phase of polling would be held on April 19, followed by April 26, May 7 and May 13.

Madhya Pradesh has a total of 29 Lok Sabha constituencies, making it the sixth-largest state in terms of parliamentary representation. Out of these, 10 seats are reserved for SC and ST candidates, while the remaining 19 are unreserved.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, the BJP secured a massive victory in Madhya Pradesh, winning 28 out of the 29 seats. The Indian National Congress (INC) managed to win only one seat. (ANI)
