Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha workers carried out a major cleanliness drive to clean up a road and pavement after a massive election rally of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the BJP's North Mumbai candidate and Union Minister Piyush Goyal.

BJP leaders said the cleanliness drive was inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat mission.

Dhruv Goyal, son of Union Minister Piyush Goyal, actively participated and cleaned the road with a broom.

"PM Modi has shown us the vision of 'Vikshit Bharat 2047," and the first step towards it is 'Swaach Bharat'. Like PM Modi said, in our country there are four castes: youth, women, Farmers and the poor. PM Modi has shown so much respect to everyone. Today the world is filled with energy and through energy we can make our nation 'Viksit Bharat'. Viksit Bharat has to be built only through everyone's effort. We should work toward taking the nation forward without any expectation of getting any position. I want to request that all the youth of the country should work towards nation-building," he told ANI.

He further said that Lok Sabha elections are ahead and if the country has to move forward, then the contribution of youth will be at its maximum.

The massive rally was organized after Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the party's Chunav Office for North Mumbai.

Maharashtra has 48 Lok Sabha seats, the second-largest after Uttar Pradesh. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won 23 out of 25 seats it contested in alliance with the undivided Shiv Sena.

Elections to the 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra will be held in five phases on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, and May 20.

The undivided NCP, part of the opposition alliance, contested 19 seats and won four. Following the split in 2022, the Shiv Sena, which had earlier formed a coalition government with the Congress and NCP, saw Eknath Shinde break away from the party with his loyalists and align with the BJP.

He took over as CM later, with the support of the BJP. The Election Commission (EC), thereafter, allotted the Sena's 'bow and arrow' symbol and the party flag to the Shinde faction. (ANI)
