After AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi appealed to Election Commission of India to monitor the alleged threat calls he is receiving, BJP candidate from Hyderabad, Madhavi Latha asked who can give him death threats when he has friendship with "people from ISIS and the King's group".

"Who is giving him (Asaduddin Owaisi) death threats?. Look at the level of his friendships. He is friends with people from ISIS, the kings' group. He says that he has a stronghold here and then says that he is receiving death threats," she said.

Madhavi Latha said, "The Y+ Security is given to fight for the truth...Asaduddin Owaisi has friendships with the kings' group...He keeps quiet when atrocities are inflicted on women..."

Earlier, Owaisi appealed to Election Commission of India to monitor the alleged threat calls he received after meeting with the family members of late Mukhtar Ansari.

Speaking to reporters, Asaduddin Owaisi said, "The atmosphere created in the country is giving them strength to say such things. We will live as long as it is destined and no one is here to live forever. We appeal to ECI to monitor the situation."

After the death of Mukhtar Ansari, Asaduddin Owaisi paid tribute to the gangster turned poltician and visited his residence in Ghazipur earlier this week.

Meanwhile, Madhavi Latha on Friday launched a scathing attack against the Congress party for the promises made to the people in manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.

Latha pointed out that during the 2023 assembly elections, the Congress party had also released a manifesto, but they failed to fulfill the promises they made.

Voting across all 17 seats in Telangana will be conducted in a single phase on May 13.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, the BRS won nine of 17 seats, while the BJP and Congress bagged four and three seats, respectively. (ANI)
