Himachal Pradesh Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur said that instead of questioning his MLAs, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu should ask himself what led to such a situation.

"Who is responsible for this condition of the government?" Thakur said.

The former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister said that the government has lost its majority and does not have the moral right to remain in power.

"During the Budget Session, the country saw how Congress somehow saved its government by strangulating democratic values. Had the 15 BJP MLAs not been wrongly expelled, the Congress government would have fallen in the Budget Session," Thakur said.

The Leader of Opposition said that the Congress government has fallen in the eyes of the people of the state and its workers, leaders, ministers and MLAs.

"Had our demand for division of votes on the cut motion been accepted, this government would have fallen the day before yesterday," Thakur said.

Jairam Thakur said that the government is in minority and it is questionable how long the government can be saved. He said that it seems that even the Congress MLAs in Shimla are under more protection than those who are given Z Plus protection.

"Pilots are running in front of the MLAs and escorts are running behind. Even at night, the police peep into the houses of the MLAs to see whether they are at home or not. This is the condition of Congress MLAs today," Thakur said.

Jairam Thakur met former Chief Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Prem Kumar Dhumal on Sunday. Independent MLAs Hoshiar Singh and Ashish Sharma, who recently resigned from the assembly and joined the BJP, and former MLA Inder Dutt Lakhanpal was also present at the meeting.

"Former Congress MLA Devinder Kumar Bhutto, who joined BJP, along with independent MLAs Hoshiar Singh and Ashish Sharma, met former Chief Minister Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal in Hamirpur today. During this cordial meeting, issues related to the party were discussed and guidance was received from Dhumal," Thakur said in a post on 'X'. (ANI)
