"Expecting good results in Punjab": BJP leader Preneet Kaur ahead of Lok Sabha polls

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Preneet Kaur on Sunday said that results in Punjab will definitely be in favour of the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Preneet Kaur, who has been fielded by the BJP in Patiala said that the public's response is positive towards the BJP.

"I am very happy to join BJP. I thank the BJP leadership for giving me the ticket. This is the time to lay the foundation of the BJP, and the response that is coming is good. We expect the election results will be good for us and preparations for the BJP govt in 2027 in Punjab will begin," Preneet Kaur told ANI.

Preneet Kaur is the wife of former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh. She won the Patiala seat on Congress ticket in the 2019 general elections.

Preneet Kaur recently joined BJP. She was suspended by the Congress in February last year for anti-party activities.

Voting for 10 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab will be held in the last phase on June 1.

Earlier today, Congress Central Election Committee also finalised the name of Tariq Anwar from Katihar Lok Sabha constituency and Mohammad Javed for Kishanganj Lok Sabha constituency.

"The decision was taken by the Congress at a meeting of its Central Election Committee," sources said.

The election for 543 Lok Sabha seats will be held in seven phases starting April 19.The counting of votes will take place on June 4. (ANI)
