Various Tamil organisations have filed a police complaint after posters appeared in Coimbatore urging the public to vote for the "North Indian" party and free the country from all the parties that are inspired by Dravidian ideology.

The posters have been allegedly pasted in the name of "North Indian Unity Forum".

"All brothers and sisters are instructed to vote for a North Indian party this time. Annamalai is very loyal to our Sher Modiji of Gujarat. If the BJP wins, our Modiji will connect Coimbatore/Tirupur to Gujarat in a few days. Modi hai toh mumkin hai, is bar 400 paar. This is a golden chance, don't miss it. Free India from the Dravidian Party. Voting for Annamalai is voting for Modiji. Vote for our Gujarat, vote for Uttar Pradesh," the poster read.

The complaint has been jointly filed by TPDK leader K Ramakrishnan, CPI ML leader Balasubramanian, Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam leader Nehru Das and leaders of the Revolutionary Youth Front and Makkal Athikaram. In the complaint, they stated that such a poster violates the Model Code of Conduct and that legal action should be taken against the person who printed the poster.

The BJP has fielded Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai from the Coimbatore Lok Sabha seat. The state will vote on all 39 Lok Sabha seats in Phase 1 on April 19. (ANI)
