Youth killed in Delhi's Shashtri Park; police register case

A youth was allegedly murdered following a fight between the deceased and some people in the National Capital, a top police official said.

The incident took place in the Shashtri Park area on late Tuesday night.

North East DCP Joy Tirkey told ANI, "The incident took place at 12 am in the night... A total of 7 to 8 rounds of bullets were fired... The brother of the victim said that he had been shot."

"A few days ago, there was a fight between the deceased and some people. A murder case has been registered," DCP Tirkey said.

"The investigation is underway. Around 7-8 rounds may have been fired...", the DCP added.

On Tuesday, the Delhi Police Special Cell arrested two people, accused in a murder case dating back to 2016, under the Ranhola police station limits. The two accused, named Kabir Nat alias Shakil Khalifa and Bablu Nat, were declared Proclaimed Offenders by the court in 2018 and had managed to evade arrest for eight years.

On Holi, one person was apprehended for allegedly killing his wife by "slitting" her throat in the national capital, as per police. The police further said that the couple, who have been married for six years, has two children, in the age groups of 5 and 3, respectively. So the Sub-Divisional Magistrate has been informed to initiate procedures under 176 of the of the Code of Criminal Procedure, as per police. The alleged murder took place at Baldhawar Colony, Bakhtawarpur, falling under the jurisdiction of the Alipur police station when the country was celebrating Holi. (ANI)
