Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde chaired a crucial meeting of Shiv Sena leaders and laid down the election strategy before the party. He asked leaders to work hard for the elections.

"A 24x7 war room will be set up in Mumbai for elections, and party offices in each assembly constituency should report to the same," said CM Shinde.

Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde advised the MLAs and MPs to work 24x7. He also said that this is a real test of MLAs, district chiefs and office bearers. "Party's discipline has to be maintained. Nobody should behave like a king. Instead, everyone should work in unity and follow party directives," the Maharashtra CM said.

He asked party leaders to hold assembly-wise meetings to bring the Shiv Sena into action mode. "Get in touch with every Shiv Sena shakha. Coordinate with the local leadership of Mahayuti for better coordination. Meetings should be held jointly with the local leadership of Mahayuti," he added.

He told party workers and leaders to coordinate for the distribution of voting slips.

"Pay careful attention to the planning of campaigns and meetings. Names and photographs of local office bearers should be used as per protocol on campaign material. Banners should be put up at important places with appropriate permissions. The code of conduct should not be violated and anyone found violating it, should be reported," he declared.

The CM asked party workers and leaders to work coherently with partner alliances. He also told the party leaders to resolve disputes within the party and Mahayuti immediately.

He asked party spokespersons not to criticize Mahayuti leaders. "They are friends. Don't take a stand against any ally," the Maharashtra CM added.

During the meeting, he also directed party spokespersons to be careful while making statements and "not stoop low like the Opposition."

"Remind people of the regressive policies of the Congress in the last 50 years, and educate them on the transformation during NDA's term. We have ensured to deliver services to the doorstep of our citizens in the last two years," Maharashtra CM said.

CM Eknath Shinde launched a scathing attack on Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and said the Shiv Sena (UBT) chief has forgotten the Hindutva ideology.

"Comments of its senior leader likening Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Mughal emperor Aurangzeb is an act of treason and an insult to the nation. PM Modi abrogated article 370 and to call him Aurangzeb is despicable." he lashed out.

"Uddhav Thackeray got only 5 minutes to speak at the INDIA bloc event held at Shivaji Park. He could not open his speech with his usual line 'Jamlela mazya tamam hindu...." he added.

CM Shinde in the meeting said that the seat-sharing discussion, for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with Mahayuti partners is in progress and will be announced soon.

He said the governing 'Mahayuti' (grand alliance) has set a target of winning 45 of the 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra.

Further taking a jibe at the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) over seat-sharing for Lok Sabha elections, he said that MVA leaders have no real agenda. "It's an alliance of opportunists," he added.

Notably, CM Shinde met MNS chief Raj Thackeray, amid talk of a possible alliance ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.

"A discussion has also been held with Raj Thackeray. Talks on the Lok Sabha polls were positive and there will be further discussion. The right decision will be made at the right time," the Maharashtra CM said. (ANI)
