Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) issued a statement lashing out at L-G VK Saxena over his letter flagging pollution in the national capital.

"Yet again, LG writes a letter to the CM in a language better avoided. The language is rude, curt and bordering on abusive. We strongly condemn the use of such a despicable language by the LG," AAP stated.

"Delhi's AAP Government systematically confronts the issue head-on, displaying the diligence of a responsible administration. We have installed an AQI monitor every 40 kilometres, such a robust monitoring mechanism is nowhere else in the country," stated AAP's statement.

The statement said that we solemnly acknowledge the gravity of the issue at hand, and our unwavering commitment to its resolution is evident through our tireless efforts. With meticulous planning and execution, all 1800 industries in Delhi have seamlessly transitioned to PNG fuels, marking a significant milestone in our journey towards environmental sustainability. Furthermore, our city boasts its highest green cover to date, standing at 23.6%.

"Delhi proudly leads the nation with the most progressive EV policy, exemplified by the operation of 1650 electric buses on our roads--a feat unmatched by any other city in the country by miles. Looking ahead, our ambitious goal is to electrify 80% of Delhi's bus fleet by the year 2025, reaffirming our steadfast commitment to a cleaner, greener future for all," the statement added.

AAP emphasised, "It is imperative to highlight that, according to the Economic Survey, pollution levels in Delhi have witnessed a notable decrease of 30-35% compared to levels recorded in 2016."

The statement further said that in our commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all residents, we have diligently ensured uninterrupted 24x7 electricity supply across all sectors--industrial, residential, and commercial. This monumental achievement has rendered diesel-based generators obsolete, marking a significant step towards our goal.

Highlighting the efforts undertaken by the Delhi government, the party statement said that over 10 significant Yamuna rejuvenation projects, expending a total of Rs1,080 crores have been undertaken. "Notably, these efforts encompass the construction of the 318 million litres per day wastewater treatment plant at Coronation Pillar. Despite these endeavours, the release of funds by the Finance Secretaries has been deliberately & consistently obstructed, resulting in delays with crucial files languishing in their offices for months on end," the statement added.
