Taking a swipe at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who coined the party's slogan for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, calling on voters across the national capital to put AAP members in the Lok Sabha; BJP MP Manoj Tiwari on Friday invoked his alleged involvement in the liquor 'scam' case while accusing him of leaving Delhi in tatters.

Earlier, on Friday, the AAP convenor sounded the party's poll bugle for the Lok Sabha polls while also launching its slogan: "Sansad Mei bhi Kejriwal, tabhi Dilli hogi aur khushhal (Put Kejriwal in Lok Sabha to unlock good tidings for Delhi)".

Countering the AAP slogan for the upcoming elections, Tiwari, who was re-nominated by the BJP from the North East Delhi constituency earlier, said in a personalised video message, "The slogan that is on the lips of everyone in Delhi is 'Sharab bechta Kejriwal, Dilli ko kardiya behaal; Dilli ki galliyan hain badhaal, jail mein hoga Kejriwal' (Kejriwal deals in liquor, has left Delhi in tatters, the city's lanes and bylanes and lying in neglect, Kejriwal will be in jail soon)."

The AAP founder-chief has dodged multiple summonses from the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) for questioning in connection with the Delhi liquor 'scam' case.

Coining the party's poll slogan ealrier on Friday, the AAP national convenor said, "Today, we are launching our campaign for the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi. We will go to the people with the slogan 'Sansad main bhi Kejriwal, tabhi Delhi hogi aur khushhal'. I will always be grateful to the people of Delhi for putting their trust in the Aam Aadmi Party over and over again and giving us opportunities to serve them."

Calling himself a member of the extended family of all Delhi residents, Kejriwal said, "I have always tried to lend a helping hand to the people of Delhi."

"Today, Delhi has electricity 24x7. Across the country, only Delhi and Punjab have electricity supply 24x7," he claimed.

Training his guns at the BJP-led NDA at the Centre, Kejriwal said, "Whenever I initiate measures for the greater good of all, the central government and the Lieutenant Governor try to put road blocks in the way. Why? They have been harsh and hostile towards the 2 crore people of Delhi simply because you all elected a common man as your chief minister, not just once but many times over."

Earlier, Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court took cognizance of the ED's second complaint against Kejriwal and issued fresh summons to him, seeking his physical appearance in court on March 16.

The ED, on Wednesday, moved the court with its second complaint against the AAP chief, accusing him of not complying with the agency's summons in the liquor case.

Recently, Kejriwal agreed to appear virtually before the ED on any date after March 12.

The ED stated earlier that it wants to record Kejriwal's statement on key aspects of the case such as the formulation of the liquor policy, meetings held before it was finalised and allegations of bribery.

As announced in a joint press briefing earlier, the ruling AAP will contest the Lok Sabha polls in alliance with the Congress. As part of the seat deal locked by the two parties, the AAP will field candidates in 4 seats, setting aside the remaining 3 for the grand old party.

Further, according to the deal, the two parties will also split seats in neighbouring Haryana, Gujarat and Goa.

AAP will contest New Delhi, West Delhi, South Delhi and East Delhi constituencies while the Congress will field nominees from Chandni Chowk, North East and North West Delhi. (ANI)
