Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi said that BJP councillors disrupted the proceedings of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi House during a special session called on Monday.
She said the AAP presented a proposal today to resolve the issue of electricity bills amid the ruckus. Mayor Oberoi told ANI, "It was an important session today but the BJP councillors disrupted it. They should understand that people have elected them with hope." "Delhi people are facing a big issue with electricity bills and to resolve this, we have presented a proposal today in which it is made mandatory for all the concerned departments to establish a proper communication so that the property owners don't have to face any issues in the installation of electricity meters," Oberoi said. "Since the Model Code of Conduct will be there soon, as the Lok Sabha elections are about to come, the March session will be held in the very first week...", she said. The AAP leader also regretted that they could not hold any discussions on any issue in the House in the last year. "It is very sad. It is very important to hold discussions on proposals related to the residents of the city."
