Taking a dig at the INDIA bloc in Tamil Nadu's Chennai on Tuesday, Union Minister Hardeep Singh predicted that the alliance may not exist as there is no discussion on seat-sharing.

"I have the feeling that when this workshop ends INDI alliance may also not exist. Where is the discussion on seat-sharing now," said Hardeep Singh.

Addressing an event in Tamil Nadu's Chennai, the Union Minister elaborated on his bond with the state, adding to which he said, "I also have solid family links with Tamil Nadu."

Comparing India's growth with the economic growth of other countries, Hardeep Singh said that half of the world is going to face recession and another half is floating with recession. Japan was once the largest economy but now is affected by a recession. 4th largest in Germany but it is almost on the recession line. India was almost in a fragile position once but we will be amongst the top three countries in terms of GDP.

Elaborating on Tamil Nadu receiving funds from the centre for various schemes, Hardeep Singh said, "In Tamil Nadu, almost all the state govt schemes are run by union government funds but are named as state government schemes. Within the next week, I will send booklets of data that the central government gave to the state government in Tamil Nadu."

Appreciating the Modi government for enriching people's lives, he said that 11 crore Ujwala connections were given. 13 lakh houses were built. 4 crore houses have been sanctioned in urban and rural areas. The number of airports has increased from 75 to 149 now."

Taking a jibe at the Tamil Nadu government over oil prices, the Union Minister said that the prices of petrol and diesel in the state are Rs. 5 more than the prices in Maharashtra and Goa. BJP state Governemnt reduced the tax in these states so it's cheaper than in Tamil Nadu.

Notably, BJP Tamil Nadu Chief Annamalai gave a Thirukural book translated into Tamil to Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri at BJP Headquarters, Kamalalayam. (ANI)
