Trinamool Congress leader Derek O'Brien on Wednesday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's reply to the motion of thanks to the President's Address in the Rajya Sabha and said there were no guarantees about employment, price rise, the situation in Manipur and accused him of "butchering federalism".

"PM @narendramodi delivers looong Mann Ki Baat (Rajya Sabha edition). His govt has converted Parliament into a deep, dark chamber. No guarantees about employment, price rise, Manipur. Hollow words about federalism from a man who has blood on his hands for butchering federalism," Derek O'Brien said in a post on X.

In his reply, the Prime Minister said that President's address emphasized India's burgeoning confidence, promising future and immense potential of its people"

"India has come out of the days of fragile five and policy paralysis to the days of being among the top five economies. The last 10 years will be known for the historic decisions of the government," he said.

The Prime Minister said that "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas is not a slogan, it is Modi's guarantee"

Expressing confidence of the BJP-led alliance winning the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, the Prime Minister said "Modi 3.0 will leave no stone unturned to strengthen the foundations of Viksit Bharat"

He said President expressed confidence about India's bright future and acknowledged the capability of the citizens of India. "Rashtrapati Ji's address emphasized India's burgeoning confidence, promising future and immense potential of its people", the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the government's effort to remove the signs of colonial mentality "which were ignored earlier" and listed new ensign for the defence forces, Kartavya path, renaming the Andaman Islands, abolition of colonial laws and promotion of the Indian language as some of these steps.

The amendments moved by opposition were negatived and Rajya Sabha adopted the motion of thanks. Lok Sabha had approved the motion of thanks on Monday. (ANI)
