Misa Bharti, daughter of former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav on Tuesday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is indulging in threatening and scaring every opposition leader ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, however, the public is watching the whole scenario and will teach the BJP a lesson.

Misa Bharti said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is afraid of his party's performance in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls, and this is why the BJP has started targeting opposition leaders.

"I think the Prime Minister is very scared for the 2024 elections. Attempts were made to threaten and scare him (Hemant Soren) to get him to their side, but perhaps he did not do that. So, this is being done. An elected CM had given them the time that he would appear before them between January 29-31, but his residence was still raided," Misa Bharti told ANI.

Warning the BJP that the public is watching their every move, Misa Bharti said, "This is just the beginning, the PM is scared for the 2024 elections, and attempts are being made to scare all opposition leaders like this. But we won't be scared. The public is watching. BJP and PM Modi will have to bear the brunt of it."

Misa Bharti further claimed that the BJP is trying to topple the government in Jharkhand.

"You can see what is happening in our neighbouring state, Jharkhand. I suspect that the Centre is playing the same game in Jharkhand that it is playing in Bihar," she said.

The former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav was questioned for around 8 hours in a land-for-job scam by the Enforcement Directorate in Patna. His father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, was questioned by the central agency for around 9 hours on Monday.

Meanwhile, Hemant Soren, who was also summoned multiple times by the central agency wrote a letter to the ED and said that he would record his statement before the agency officials at 1 pm on Wednesday, January 31 at his residence in Ranchi. (ANI)
