Amid the rift in INDIA Bloc over seat sharing, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) working president Supriya Sule said that there is no infighting in the alliance and all the parties of the bloc are in "frequent conversation".

Her statement comes after the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) declared to contest all Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal and Punjab alone.

Sule while speaking to ANI, said that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is 'didi' and is respected and loved by the members of the opposition alliance.

"She is our didi and we love and respect her. The alliance (INDIA) is united and we will all fight together. There will be no loss to the alliance. The model in every state will be different. There is no infighting in the alliance. We are in frequent conversation," Sule said.

The Trinamool Congress reportedly was willing to offer the Congress a maximum of three Lok Sabha seats of the 42 seats in Bengal. In the 2019 elections, the Congress had won two Lok Sabha seats while the TMC had won 22 seats.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann also announced that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will not stitch up an alliance with Congress in the state.

When asked if the party will shake hands with Congress in Punjab for general elections, Mann said, "We won't go with Congress. We have discussed our volunteers and potential candidates in all of the 13 Lok Sabha seats of Punjab. There are around 40 names. We have to make Punjab win."

With the announcement, of going alone, by Mamata Banerjee and the AAP on Wednesday it appears that the doors are closed for the Congress in Bengal and Punjab. (ANI)
