Heroin wrapped in adhesive tape recovered from Punjab's Firozpur

The Border Security Force (BSF) troops on Monday recovered a packet containing around 480 grams of heroin, wrapped in a yellow adhesive tape, on the outskirts of Village L S Wala in Firozpur district.

"On 1st Jan 2024, during evening hours, on specific information regarding the presence of a consignment, alert BSF troops launched a search operation on the outskirts of the Village - L S Wala, District - Ferozepur," the BSF said in a statement.

"Further, during the search operation, at about 06:35 pm, the party recovered 1 packet (Gross weight - 480 gms) suspected to be heroin, wrapped in a yellow adhesive tape along with one small illuminating ball from a farming field," added the BSF statement.

Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, in a joint operation with Punjab Police, recovered a drone laden with a contraband item in the Tarn Taran district, officials said on Saturday.

"On December 30, 2023, at about 6:27 pm, BSF troops heard a buzzing or humming sound of a suspected flying object coming from the Pakistani side. Subsequently, a joint search operation was launched by the BSF and Punjab Police on the outskirts of Village Mari Kamboke, District Tarn Taran," the BSF Punjab Frontier stated in a release. (ANI)
