Court sends Bishnoi's associate Chhippi in Judicial custody after interrogation by Special cell

Delhi's Patiala House Court has remanded Anil Rohila alias Chhippi to judicial custody after interrogation by the Special Cell of Delhi Police. He is a close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi.

He was arrested on December 26, 2023, in a case of firing on a police team by two persons including one minor.

An FIR was registered on December 8, 2023, under the firing of a police raising Team by Anish and a Juvenile in the Vasant Kunj area. Two pistols and cartridges were recovered from the assailants.

During the investigation of the case, Chhippi was arrested by the special cell of Delhi police.

Duty Magistrate Abhinav Singh on December 30 remanded Anil Rohila alias Chhippi in judicial remand till January 13, 2024.

He was produced before the duty magistrate after three days of police custody.

Delhi police had moved an application requesting the court to send the accused into judicial custody as the investigation is ongoing.

It was submitted by the police that Judicial custody of the accused is required to prevent the accused from destroying the evidence.

It was also submitted that the accused is a habitual offender and a history-sheeter. He is associated with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. (ANI)
