Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Prayagraj on Wednesday, where he inspected various ongoing development projects in the district and gave necessary directions to the officials.

"After this, the Chief Minister held a review meeting with senior officials regarding the preparations for Mahakumbh and Magh Mela on the banks of the Sangam River. During this, the Chief Minister said that the 'Divya' and 'Bhavya' Kumbh 2019 have been declared as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO," as per a press release from the chief minister's office.

"Expectations from around the world are associated with the Mahakumbh of 2025. This presents a golden opportunity for us to showcase ourselves to the world. The upcoming Kumbh will showcase the cultural grandeur of India to the world," the CM said.

During his visit to Prayagraj, CM Yogi first offered prayers to Mother Ganga at the VIP Ghat. Subsequently, he proceeded to Sangam Nose, where he conducted a thorough review of the Mela preparations with the organisers. The Chief Minister then inspected the construction progress at Qila Ghat and carefully examined the arrangements within the fort as well.

"Following this, he inspected the construction work at Dashashwamedh Ghat and projects like Akshayavat, Patalpuri, and Saraswati Koop Corridor. During this tour, he directed officials to complete all tasks in a timely and quality manner," the release stated.

While reviewing the preparations for the Magh Mela, Chief Minister Yogi stated that it should be taken as a rehearsal for the upcoming Mahakumbh. He emphasised showcasing the administrative capabilities, cultural richness, and tourism facilities of Uttar Pradesh, making this Mahakumbh even more divine.

The Chief Minister stated that cleanliness standards should be maintained throughout the event and that banned polythene should not be used. He urged using the public address system to raise awareness among devotees.

"He suggested utilising artificial intelligence and drone technology to control crowds and strengthen security measures during the Mahakumbh and Magh Mela. He emphasised the need for appropriate arrangements for saints and kalpvasis, ensuring no inconvenience for any devotee," as per the release.

Additionally, he issued instructions to repair roads and pay special attention to basic amenities like electricity and water supply. "During Mahakumbh and Magh Mela, exhibitions should be organised for the sale of the art and crafts of local artists. This initiative will significantly contribute to the livelihoods of these artists," the CM stated. (ANI)
