The Parliamentarians of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc conducted a march from Parliament House to Vijay Chowk in the national capital on the issue of suspension of members in both Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha.

Speaking to the media during the protest march, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge accused the BJP of "purposely" disrupting the proceedings of house.

"Purposefully, the ruling party people are disrupting the proceedings of the house. 125 to 130 BJP MPs in Rajya Sabha stood up and were raising slogans against 10 people. It happened for the first time that a parliamentary affairs minister was giving a speech and 125 to 130 people were raising slogans," said Kharge.

Kharge further said that "the protest is against the government; PM Modi and even the chief of the house do not want the house to run. By raising an issue, they tried to bring in casteism. We are elected people and in democracy, it's our right and duty to raise our people's voice and that is what we are doing."

Kharge also slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for not making a statement on parliament security breach incident and said, "We just want to know the details of parliament security breach, how it happened and who is responsible for it. But it's unfortunate that neither Amit Shah made a statement neither the PM. Instead of talking in parliament, he talks in Varanasi, Ahmedabad and on TV.

The members of the INDIA bloc have also planned a protest at the Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Friday, and several leaders of the INDIA bloc will remain present, informed Kharge.

Earlier, two more Opposition MPs -- Thomas Chazhikadan of the Kerala Congress (Mani) and A M Ariff of the CPI(M) -- were suspended from Lok Sabha for misconduct on Wednesday, taking the tally of ousted members to 143. Of the members suspended, 97 belong to the Lower House and 46 to the Upper House. (ANI)
