In reaction to Rahul Gandhi claiming that the media is entirely focused on showing the mimicry incident and not highlighting the pain and agony of the suspended MPs, Union Minister Giriraj Singh said that the former is the "biggest non-serious leader" of this century.

"The biggest non-serious leader of this century is Rahul Gandhi. He doesn't know what he says. I don't think a lot of comment needs to be made on a non-serious person," Giriraj said speaking to ANI on Wednesday.

The Union Minister said that people had rejected the issues highlighted by him in the 2019 General Elections and has also lost three states in the recently concluded state assembly elections.

"People rejected him in 2019 based on issues that he wanted to present. He has crossed limits after losing three states. And now, after his behaviour in Parliament, he is saying that he is being mistreated," Giriraj Singh said.

Griraj further said that Rahul Gandhi did not speak at the time when the Congress had suspended 92 members. He also suggested that the Congress MP should have discouraged the TMC MP from mimicking the Vice President.

"Earlier, Congress had suspended 92 members. At that time he did not speak. Rahul Gandhi is non-serious himself. Rahul Gandhi should have discouraged them from mimicking the Vice President because he holds a constitutional post. If Rahul Gandhi does not know the importance of the President, Vice President and the Prime Minister, god knows when he will understand," he said.

Responding to claims that Mallikarjun Kharge is not allowed to speak in the House despite him being from the Dalit community, Giriraj said, "Whenever Kharge stands up in the House, I don't think any other leader stands and speaks at the same time. There cannot be a greater lie than this."

The 'mimicry row' erupted after suspended Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee, during the protest with other suspended MPs at Parliament's Makar Dwar, was seen mimicking the Vice Presiden Jagdeep Dhankhar, while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was seen filming the Trinamool MP using his phone.
