Northeast Frontier Railway bags safety shield in 68th Railway Week Awards

The Northeast Frontier Railway along with Southern Railway jointly received the Safety Shield Award during the recently concluded 68th Railway Week Awards at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

The award was presented for maintaining a high standard of efficiency regarding various safety parameters during 2022-23.

A press release issued by Chief Public Relations Officer Sabyasachi De informed that derailment, collision, breach of signal, signal passing at danger, dashing with another vehicle over track, incidents in unmanned level crossings, and cattle run over are the various safety parameters in which Northeast Frontier Railway registered least number of cases with high scoring as compared to other zonal railways.

Union Minister of Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw presented the shield to the General Manager of N. F. Railway Chetan Kumar Shrivastava and the General Manager of Southern Railway during a function held on December 15 in the national capital.

Jaya Varma Sinha, Chairperson and CEO, the Railway Board and other senior railway officials were also present on the occasion. (ANI)
