Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury reacted to the BJP's victory in three states in the recent assembly elections, asking if it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi's victory or the victory of the common people.

Speaking to ANI, Chowdhury said, "The BJP keeps saying that this is the victory of PM Modi. They do not say this is the victory of the BJP, RSS or VHP. What I wanted to say is that PM Modi yesterday said that this is the victory of common people, farmers, good governance, and women. They should decide on their own: whose victory is this?"

Notably, the BJP remained victorious in three out of four states - Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh in the Assembly election results declared on Sunday.

Earlier also, Chowdhury said that in Chhattisgarh, it was PM Modi vs Bhupesh Baghel, in Rajasthan, it was PM Modi vs Ashok Gehlot.

"In Chhattisgarh, it was PM Modi vs Baghel, in Rajasthan, it was PM Modi vs Gehlot. We have seen PM Modi leave Delhi and roam in villages to win the elections. There is no one in BJP, except PM Modi. BJP believes this is PM Modi's victory and not BJP, RSS or VHP's victory..." said the Congress leader.

Meanwhile, a small video also surfaced in which Chowdhury was seen having a brief meeting with Parliamentarian Mahant Balaknath, who was fielded in the Rajasthan Assembly polls and is considered a favourite chief ministerial candidate after he won the election.

In the video inside the Parliament premises, Chowdhury and Balaknath share a light moment as Chowdhury says "Rajasthan ke naye CM ban rahe hai naa..."

Balaknath, who was fielded in the Rajasthan Assembly polls, is considered a favourite as the chief ministerial candidate. He defeated Congress candidate Imran Khan by a margin of 6,173 votes in the Tijara assembly constituency. (ANI)
