Bhartiya Janta Party Member of Parliament Harnath Singh Yadav on Friday rejected the exit poll prediction, giving an edge to Congress in Chhattisgarh and Telangana, while claiming that the BJP will form government in four states when the results are declared on December 3.

Most exit polls predicted BJP having a clear advantage in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, a clear edge to Congress in Chhattisgarh and Telangana and that the ruling MNF ahead in power sweepstakes in Mizoram.

Five states went to the polls this month, with counting slated for December 3.

Speaking to ANI, the BJP MP said that the ruling party is going to form a government in four states. "The exit poll results of two states, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, will turn out to be right but the results of two states, Chhattisgarh and Telangana, will prove to be wrong."

"The reason is that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government started many schemes for the poor, Dalits, farmers, women and youth who have started to feel that Modi ji is working for their interests," the BJP MP said.

BJP MP Yadav claimed that every section of society "stands" with the BJP. "Therefore, we have full confidence to form the government in four states."

Another BJP MP, Sanjay Jaiswal, claimed the party will form the government in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan.

"We will improve our performance in Telangana, where stakes were low for the party but the BJP will form the government in three states."

"Debates were being held around the welfare schemes announced by the PM Modi-led government and the corruption of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel," he alleged, adding that "Bhupesh Baghel ji, who cheated the public in the last elections, tried to distribute freebies during campaigning."

The BJP leader added that there was "never any doubt" about the BJP forming governments in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. (ANI)
