Chief Minister Bhpesh Baghel on Thursday claimed that the attack on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Brijmohan Agarwal during a public meeting in Chhattisgarh'ds Raipur was "all sponsored".

"How can someone attack Brijmohan Agarwal? In 2000, he came to Chhattisgarh with Narendra Modi (Prime Minister). Due to the hooliganism that he committed in the BJP's office (Ekatmak Parisar), even Narendra Modi had to hide under a table. Who would attack him? It is all sponsored", Baghel said while speaking to ANI in Raipur.

Earlier in the day, during a public meeting in Raipur, BJP leader Agarwal was attacked by miscreants.

He alleged that the miscreants were "protected" by the Congress government.

"During public relations today in Raipur, I was attacked by goons protected by the Congress government. Because of being with the workers and supporters, no major untoward incident could happen. A major incident was averted", Agarwal said in a post on 'X'.

"We BJP workers are not going to get scared by this cowardly attack. We will free not only Raipur but the entire Chhattisgarh from those goons of power. Will bring good governance of BJP and make the state safe", he added.

Meanwhile, the first phase of polling for the Chhattisgarh Assembly concluded on Tuesday, and the second phase will be held on November 17.

The counting of votes will take place on December 3 in all five poll-bound states. (ANI)
