Nationalist Congress Party MP (Sharad Pawar faction) Supriya Sule on Monday brought all the affidavits and evidence related to the disqualification petitions filed in relation to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) rift to the Election Commission in the national capital and said that everyone knows that the NCP belongs to Sharad Pawar.

The NCP leader also noted that they would show all the affidavits and evidence to the Election Commission with all transparency.

"We have brought all the affidavits and evidence. With all transparency, we want to show it to the Election Commission," NCP MP Sule said.

The NCP leader said that the original Shiv Sena belonged to Late Balasaheb Thackeray and from Kashmir to Kanyakumari everyone knows that the NCP belongs to Sharad Pawar.

"We have a lot of documents and affidavits and we have come here to submit them to the EC. Original Shiva Sena belongs to the Late Balasaheb Thackeray. He himself handed over Shiv Sena to Uddhav Thackeray when he was alive. For us, there is only one Shiva Sena and Uddhav Thackeray is its chairman. Similarly, Sharad Pawar founded the Nationalist Congress Party. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari everyone knows that NCP belongs to Sharad Pawar only," she said.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court on Monday directed the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker to decide the disqualification petitions filed in relation to the Shiv Sena rift and the Nationalist Congress Party rift by December 31, 2023 and January 31, 2024 respectively.

When asked about the SC's decision, Supriya Sule said that she is eternally grateful to the Supreme Court for this justice.

"I am eternally grateful to the Supreme Court for being fare. Finally, we have a timeline. The speaker is the custodian of honesty which was unfortunately not happening in Maharashtra, so the Supreme Court has to intervene. And from the bottom of my heart, I express full gratitude to the apex court for this justice," the NCP leader said.

The NCP party suffered a split in July this year as top leaders including Ajit Pawar along with eight other party leaders joined the ruling Eknath-Shinde-BJP alliance in the state.

NCP leader Ajit Pawar took oath as Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister with eight other party legislators.

The move by Sharad Pawar's nephew Ajit Pawar, which also saw eight other NCP MLAs joining the Shinde-Fadnavis government, came amid efforts by opposition parties to forge unity to take on the BJP in the next year's Lok Sabha polls. (ANI)
