Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday condoled the loss of life due to the terrorist attack in Pulwama and said the central government has firmly resolved to eliminate the terrorist menace that continues to receive encouragement and reinforcement from across the border.

"In a message, the Lt Governor said the killing of innocent civilian Mukesh Kumar, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, will not go unpunished, as per a press release from the Raj Bhawan.

"I strongly condemn the despicable and cowardly terrorist attack in Pulwama. Heartfelt condolences to the family of Mukesh Kumar. We are firmly resolved to eliminate the terrorist menace that continues to receive encouragement and reinforcement from across the border," the Lt Governor said.

A migrant labourer succumbed to his injuries after being shot by terrorists in the Tumchi Nowpora area of Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama of Pulawama on Monday, police said.

According to the Jammu and Kashmir police, the deceased has been identified as Mukesh who hailed from Uttar Pradesh.

Hours after a migrant labourer succumbed to his injuries after being shot by terrorists in JK's Pulwama, DGP Dilbag Singh on Monday exuded confidence in the investigation carried out by J-K Police and said that they'll not spare those who are behind the attack.

Reacting to this, DGP Singh said, "I am confident that police will identify and nab those who are involved in yesterday's and today's attack. We will not spare those behind the attack. The neighbouring country doesn't like peace here in Jammu and Kashmir." (ANI)
